Zambia Prepares to Host 2026 Nc’wala Ceremony, Minister Sialubalo Highlights Unity in Diversity

As Zambia prepares to host the 2026 Nc’wala Ceremony of the Ngoni people, Gift S. Sialubalo has emphasised the role of the event in promoting national unity. Speaking at the Nc’wala Fundraising and Appreciation Dinner, the Minister described the ceremony as a powerful symbol that brings together people from diverse cultural, ethnic and social backgrounds from across Zambia and beyond. He noted that the event strengthens the spirit of One Zambia, One Nation by fostering tolerance, peaceful coexistence and mutual respect among citizens. According to Hon. Sialubalo, traditional ceremonies like Nc’wala serve as key platforms for building social cohesion and reinforcing Zambia’s national identity.

The Minister highlighted that Hakainde Hichilema recognises the value of traditional events in promoting peace and inclusive development. President Hichilema fully supports the Nc’wala Ceremony because it celebrates the country’s cultural diversity while instilling national pride and unity. Hon. Sialubalo further explained that the ceremony preserves the rich heritage of the Ngoni people and encourages cultural exchange, dialogue and mutual understanding among communities.
