Unibra has officially launched SKOL Beer in Zambia, signalling plans to invest in local development and partner with trusted stakeholders. The launch took place in Lusaka, where Unibra Business Development Manager Antonio Charlier outlined the company’s strategy for sustainable growth.
Charlier said the company’s success depends on public trust, support from private stakeholders, and endorsement by Zambian consumers. “Today’s launch is not just a celebration but also a commitment, a pact of trust, vision, and shared growth,” he said.
The company plans to conduct thorough market research to understand local expectations and economic dynamics. Charlier added that Unibra intends to collaborate with experienced local partners, invest in the medium term, and potentially establish local production. This approach aims to create jobs, support local agriculture, and ensure a sustainable presence in Zambia.
SKOL Beer will be distributed in Zambia by L&A Logistics. Spokesperson Tionge Nyirenda said the partnership will strengthen their presence in the fast-moving consumer goods sector. “This partnership creates employment opportunities and opens an exciting new chapter with the launch of SKOL Lager. SKOL is a brand with deep heritage, international recognition, and a spirit of quality that we believe will resonate with the Zambian market,” Nyirenda said.
He added that bringing SKOL closer to consumers will require a collective effort. Nyirenda expressed gratitude to Unibra for selecting L&A Logistics as a trusted partner and emphasised their commitment to building the brand in Zambia.
SKOL Beer forms part of a broader African initiative to establish strong brands rooted in local culture. The beer is brewed in Rwanda and is already present in neighbouring countries including Democratic Republic of Congo, Congo-Brazzaville, Uganda, Cameroon, and Mozambique.
With its launch in Zambia, SKOL Beer aims to become a recognized household name while contributing to local economic growth and sustainable development.
