Yesterday afternoon, Zambia hosted a high-level delegation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at State House, led by Dr. Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, the UAE’s Minister of State for Foreign Trade. The visit underscored the strong bilateral relationship between the two nations, built on mutual understanding and shared economic interests. Zambia highlighted its current positive economic trajectory, noting that a stable and growing economy provides an ideal environment for increased trade and investment from UAE partners. President Hakainde Hichilema emphasized the importance of deepening these ties to support sustainable development and economic diversification.
During the discussions, Zambia encouraged UAE companies to explore opportunities across key sectors, including mining, tourism, food processing, infrastructure, and agriculture. Both large-scale and mid-sized ventures were identified as priority areas where investment could generate significant economic returns and strengthen local industries. The meeting also focused on creating mutually beneficial partnerships that expand business prospects while fostering job creation for Zambians. President Hichilema stressed that collaboration with the UAE is central to driving innovation, attracting capital, and enhancing Zambia’s competitiveness in regional and global markets. By leveraging these strategic partnerships, Zambia aims to ensure inclusive growth that directly benefits its citizens and strengthens the foundation for long-term economic resilience.
