Today, Acting Secretary to the Cabinet, Mr. Siazongo Siakalenge, officiated the 7th Senior Public Service Management Meeting at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka. The meeting focused on key strategies to consolidate Zambia’s peace, unity, and development as the country marks its 61st independence anniversary.
Mr. Siakalenge emphasised that unity and development are closely linked, noting that Zambians must work together to achieve their full potential. He highlighted that the nation’s peace and stability remain a source of pride, with the motto “One Zambia, One Nation” serving as a beacon of unity. The President’s addition of “One People” reinforces the importance of shared identity and collective purpose.
Digitalisation was identified as a priority for improving service delivery. By leveraging technology, the government aims to increase transparency, accountability, and inclusivity. This approach will bridge geographical divides and ensure that all citizens can access government services efficiently.
The meeting also focused on transforming key sectors, particularly mining, to maximise Zambia’s natural resources for national prosperity. Mr. Siakalenge stressed that enhancing transparency, promoting local content, and ensuring sustainable management are critical for economic diversification and development. The President’s directive to increase local participation in mining is expected to create jobs, stimulate entrepreneurship, and ensure that Zambians directly benefit from their resources.
The 7th Senior Public Service Management Meeting reinforced Zambia’s commitment to unity, development, and innovation, highlighting the role of digital transformation and sectoral reforms in building an inclusive and prosperous nation.
