Lusaka businesswoman Faith Musonda has been arrested and charged with idle and disorderly conduct following an incident at Community House in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The Zambia Police Service confirmed that Musonda, aged 41 and a resident of Chalala, Lusaka, was apprehended after causing a disturbance around 01:00 hours.
According to Police Assistant Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi, officers from Woodlands Police Station acted swiftly after receiving reports of disruptive behavior. Musonda was found at the scene behaving in a disorderly manner, prompting her immediate arrest. She was driving a white Toyota Fortuner, registration number BBA 8874, at the time of the incident.
“The Zambia Police Service wishes to confirm that officers at Woodlands Police Station in Lusaka have apprehended Faith Musonda for disorderly conduct,” Chilabi said in an official statement. “The brief facts of the matter are that on July 2, 2025, between 01:00 and 02:00 hours, the suspect conducted herself in a manner that was deemed idle and disorderly at Community House.”
The incident has drawn sharp criticism from State House, with Chief Communications Specialist Clayson Hamasaka describing Musonda’s actions as shocking and “quite audacious.” Hamasaka noted that such behavior, especially at a sensitive government location like Community House, was both unexpected and unacceptable.
Authorities have since charged Musonda, and she is expected to appear in court soon to answer to the charge of idle and disorderly conduct.
The Zambia Police Service has reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order and has urged members of the public to conduct themselves responsibly, especially in areas of national significance.
