Vice President Mutale Nalumango has represented President Hakainde Hichilema at the official opening of the Third Implementation and Partnership Conference, reaffirming Zambia’s commitment to sustainable development and international collaboration.
The high-level conference, which convened in Lusaka, brought together regional leaders, development partners, policymakers, and private sector representatives to assess progress and strengthen partnerships in achieving national and regional development goals. The event serves as a platform to track the implementation of strategic initiatives while fostering new partnerships that align with Zambia’s long-term development agenda.
Delivering President Hichilema’s message, Vice President Nalumango emphasized the importance of building strong, inclusive, and transparent systems that support economic transformation, poverty reduction, and job creation. She reiterated that the New Dawn Government remains focused on driving investment, strengthening governance, and expanding opportunities for all Zambians.
“We are at a crucial point where partnership and implementation must go hand in hand. We cannot achieve meaningful development without accountability and collaboration. This conference allows us to evaluate what has worked, address the gaps, and build synergies for future progress,” she stated.
Vice President Nalumango also highlighted Zambia’s recent economic milestones, including stabilizing inflation, attracting foreign direct investment, and improving access to education and health services. She noted that these achievements are a result of deliberate policy decisions and cooperative engagement with both local and international stakeholders.
The Third Implementation and Partnership Conference builds on previous sessions that focused on aligning development frameworks with Zambia’s Vision 2030 and the Eighth National Development Plan (8NDP). This year’s gathering placed special focus on climate resilience, digital transformation, and enhancing public-private partnerships.
Development partners present at the conference praised Zambia’s strides toward inclusive development and pledged continued support, particularly in areas such as infrastructure, renewable energy, agriculture, and health systems strengthening.
Vice President Nalumango concluded her address with a call to action for all stakeholders to remain committed to the shared goals outlined in Zambia’s national development plans.
“Let us use this platform not only to reflect but to recommit ourselves to the task ahead. Our people deserve a better future, and through unity and determination, we can achieve it,” she said.
The conference continues with a series of panel discussions, technical sessions, and bilateral meetings aimed at identifying actionable strategies to enhance delivery and accountability across all sectors.
