Zambia Strengthens Ties with UAE as Ambassador Presents Letters of Credence

On 1st December 2025, His Excellency Professor Nkombo Muuka officially presented his Letters of Credence to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, during a ceremony at Qasr Al Watan Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi. The presentation marks a new chapter in Zambia-UAE diplomatic relations.

Ambassador Muuka emphasized his commitment to accelerating economic diplomacy in the UAE while broadening and deepening the longstanding bilateral relationship between the two nations. His mandate focuses on enhancing trade, investment, and socio-economic cooperation, building on the foundation of decades of diplomatic engagement.

President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed reaffirmed his interest in exploring new avenues for strengthened cooperation, signaling mutual commitment to expanding ties in business, infrastructure, technology, and other sectors.

Zambia and the UAE have enjoyed cordial relations since establishing diplomatic ties on 29 November 1974. The relationship was further strengthened with the opening of the Zambian Consulate in Dubai and the Northern Emirates in 2019. Zambia established its Embassy in Abu Dhabi in 2023, solidifying its presence and facilitating enhanced diplomatic and economic engagement.

Ambassador Muuka’s appointment and the presentation of credentials underscore Zambia’s focus on leveraging strategic international partnerships to drive economic growth, promote investment, and advance bilateral relations with key global partners like the UAE.
