Yesterday, Hon. Mulambo Haimbe, SC., MP, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received Hon. Mr. Justice Martin Musaluke at Charter House in Lusaka. The meeting focused on Justice Musaluke’s candidature for election as Judge of the United Nations Dispute Tribunal (UNDT).

Justice Musaluke brings over twenty-five years of experience in constitutional, administrative, and employment law. He has played a key role in shaping Zambia’s constitutional jurisprudence and governance framework, consistently upholding justice, human dignity, and accountability.

While Zambia’s Judiciary operates independently, the Executive, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, provides support to nationals seeking to represent the country in international platforms. This facilitative role ensures Zambian jurists are positioned to contribute to global justice.

Zambia has a strong history of representation in international courts. The late Justice Elizabeth Muyovwe served at the Special Court for Sierra Leone. Justice Florence Mumba contributed to the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (UNICTY) and the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR). Justice Prisca Nyambe served at the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRMCT).

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Zambia’s global presence in the administration of justice. Supporting Justice Musaluke aligns with the nation’s long-standing tradition of judicial excellence and international legal contribution.
