Zambian Ambassador Presents Letters of Credence to Angolan President

On 20th October 2025, His Excellency Rev. Dr. Elias Munshya, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Zambia to the Republic of Angola, presented his Letters of Credence to President João Lourenço at the Presidential Palace in Luanda.

Following the official ceremony, the two leaders held a private audience where President Lourenço reaffirmed the brotherly ties between Zambia and Angola. He commended President Hakainde Hichilema for his dedication to strengthening regional cooperation, noting that their shared vision continues to anchor the partnership between the two nations.

During discussions, President Lourenço highlighted the strategic importance of the Lobito Corridor as a key trade and connectivity route. He invited Zambian companies to engage in infrastructure and development projects in Angola’s newly established provinces. He also emphasized collaboration in the health sector, presenting opportunities for Zambian professionals to serve in border regions.

Ambassador Munshya reiterated Zambia’s commitment to practical cooperation in health, infrastructure, and trade. He supported the President’s message that “the time for action is now,” stressing that Zambia is ready to translate diplomatic relations into tangible projects.

The ceremony was attended by senior Angolan officials, including Hon. Téte António, Minister of External Relations, highlighting the importance both nations place on deepening bilateral relations and fostering regional development.
