The U.S.-Zambia Investment and Innovation Road Show 2025 marked a major milestone in Zambia’s economic diplomacy. Held from 5th to 18th September 2025, the Roadshow toured California, Georgia, and Texas, showcasing Zambia’s investment potential and commitment to fostering innovation.

The event targeted critical sectors, including minerals, agriculture, energy, and healthcare, securing potential investment opportunities that highlight Zambia’s attractiveness to global investors.

A key highlight was the signing of a Letter of Intent between the Zambia Development Agency and Lucid Circuit to establish an Artificial Intelligence Special Economic Zone in Zambia. The project is valued between 150 and 300 million US dollars and is expected to position Zambia as a regional hub for AI development and innovation.

The Roadshow emphasized diaspora engagement. Zambians living abroad played a central role in convening meetings and advancing Zambia’s investment diplomacy agenda. The delegation met with state officials, industry leaders, and investors, resulting in strategic partnerships with U.S. companies, academic institutions, and innovators.

A proposal for a Diaspora Investment Commission was presented to channel diaspora capital and entrepreneurship into Zambia’s economy. The government plans to establish a Diaspora Investment Registry and desk office to facilitate diaspora investments, strengthening long-term economic collaboration.

The Roadshow reinforced the importance of early engagement with institutional and private sector sponsors. Third-party testimonials were leveraged to promote Zambia’s investment potential and attract investors.

Further initiatives include finalizing the Artificial Intelligence Special Economic Zone Memorandum of Understanding with Lucid Circuit and partners, concluding the Austin Elements MoU, and facilitating their mission to Zambia. The Ministry of Agriculture will coordinate with Texas A&M University on technical site assessments, while the Ministry of Health is expected to operationalize the MD Anderson collaboration.

The U.S.-Zambia Investment and Innovation Road Show 2025 demonstrates Zambia’s commitment to global partnerships, innovation-led economic growth, and strategic diaspora engagement. The outcomes signal a strengthened position for Zambia as a competitive investment destination in Southern Africa.
