During the official commissioning of the first-ever Zambia Bible Marathon, Vice President Dr W.K Mutale-Nalumango delivered a powerful message to pastors, calling on spiritual leaders to guide the nation toward unity and healing. His address emphasized the importance of loving even those who oppose us, framing it as both a moral and spiritual duty.

Dr Mutale-Nalumango noted that the challenge of loving enemies extends beyond politics. It is a responsibility for every citizen, every community, and especially for clergy, who hold the sacred duty of shaping hearts and minds. He reminded pastors that their actions and teachings must reflect the principles of compassion and reconciliation.

“Love is not weakness. Love is strength,” he said. “It is the bridge across our deepest divides. It is the balm that soothes old wounds. When we choose love, we do not lose power—we gain peace.”

The Vice President stressed that Zambia’s healing requires active engagement. Forgiveness, listening, and leading with compassion are essential. He challenged clergy to ensure their messages in pulpits resonate in the streets, and that their guidance inspires national unity.

He urged spiritual leaders to embrace reconciliation boldly, making love and grace the foundation of their work. “Let us be the generation that chooses unity over division, and grace over grievance,” he said.

The commissioning of the Zambia Bible Marathon marked a milestone in promoting faith-based initiatives to strengthen national cohesion. Vice President Mutale-Nalumango concluded by invoking God’s blessing on the nation, reinforcing the message that Zambia’s progress depends on moral leadership grounded in love.

The Vice President’s address positioned the clergy as key agents in fostering peace, healing, and national unity, setting a precedent for faith-driven leadership in Zambia’s public life.
