The Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) has launched a nationwide distribution of 9,500 Health Center Kits (HCKs) to enhance equitable access to primary healthcare and essential medical supplies across the country.

ZAMMSA Senior Manager for Corporate Communications, Bradley Chingobe, said the initiative followed thorough quality assurance testing by the Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA), confirming that all medicines and supplies meet national safety and quality standards.

“The Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency has launched another nationwide distribution of 9,500 Health Center Kits, advancing the Zambian government’s commitment to sustained equitable primary healthcare and reliable access to essential medicines and medical supplies,” Chingobe stated.

Each HCK contains essential medicines, consumables, and medical supplies designed to support routine healthcare services at health centers. The kits aim to improve treatment availability, reduce stockouts, and ensure that frontline health facilities are equipped to serve communities efficiently.

The distribution covers all provinces and targets both urban and rural health centers. ZAMMSA highlighted that this initiative is part of a broader government effort to strengthen the healthcare system, promote public health, and achieve sustainable access to essential medical products.

Chingobe emphasized that continuous monitoring and coordination with health facilities will ensure the proper use of the kits and maintain high standards of patient care. The agency plans regular follow-ups to evaluate distribution impact and address any emerging needs in healthcare delivery.

The nationwide rollout of the 9,500 HCKs demonstrates Zambia’s commitment to supporting health workers, reducing disparities in healthcare access, and reinforcing the country’s primary healthcare infrastructure.
