Renowned gospel artiste Pastor Malachi Ng’andu, popularly known as the Kopala Pastor, has made shocking revelations about the spiritual darkness he says exists within the music industry. In a candid interview, the artist—who has spent over two decades in the music scene—shared his personal experience with what he described as witchcraft practices among some of the industry’s most celebrated names.

The Kopala Pastor recalled a disturbing encounter early in his career, when he was unknowingly lured into what he later realised was an initiation process. Speaking on Getting Candid with Helen, he said that after a breakthrough performance at an event where he had initially been booed, a well-known artist approached him with compliments and offers of help.

“I was performing at a particular event but before I went on stage people booed me,” he said. “I wasn’t popular then, but I freestyled and they realized I had talent. After I came off stage, one of the big artistes pulled me aside and said I was good but hadn’t yet done certain things.”

Pastor Ng’andu went on to explain that what seemed like mentorship at first turned into something far more sinister. He described being invited to a river for what he later understood was an initiation ritual. At the time, he thought the meetings were about career connections and opportunities.

“They’ll act like they care, like they’re mentoring you. But it’s about drawing you in. I thought it was about money and connections. That’s how it starts,” he recounted.

The gospel artist claims that witchcraft in the music industry is real and effective. According to him, many popular artists use charms and spiritual objects—like ropes tied around their waists during performances—to attract fame and admiration.

“When you get initiated, people just start respecting you, even when your songs are not that great. You get sudden fame. It’s not satanism exactly, it’s witchcraft. People give you things to wear or carry when recording or performing.”

He issued a stern warning to upcoming artists, urging them to be cautious about collaborations, especially with more established acts. The Kopala Pastor alleged that some big-name artists use rituals to “steal stars” from rising talent, a spell that he says robs younger artists of their potential success.

“Some upcoming artists have gone through that without knowing. They think it’s just a feature, but their star gets taken. This is a real spell used in the industry,” he warned.

Despite the dark experience, Pastor Ng’andu said he was saved by the grace of God before it was too late. Today, he uses his platform to share his testimony and warn others about the spiritual pitfalls lurking in the entertainment industry.

His powerful account sheds light on a rarely spoken side of showbiz, encouraging a deeper conversation about spirituality, integrity, and the unseen forces at play behind the fame.
