Zambia Strengthens Diplomatic Relations with Presentation of Letters of Credence

Hon. Mulambo Haimbe, S.C., M.P., Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received copies of Letters of Credence today at the Charter House in Lusaka from newly accredited Ambassadors and High Commissioners to Zambia. The presentations reflect Zambia’s commitment to fostering stronger international relations and collaboration.

The diplomats presenting their credentials included His Excellency Mr. Mikami Akiteru, Ambassador-Designate of Japan to Zambia; Her Excellency Ms. Elizabeth Nyantakyi, High Commissioner-Designate of Ghana to Zambia; His Excellency Mr. Goms Menette, High Commissioner-Designate of Namibia to Zambia; and Her Excellency Ms. Maria del Rosario Mina Rojas, Ambassador-Designate of Colombia to Zambia, with residence in Pretoria, South Africa.

Minister Haimbe welcomed the diplomats and highlighted the importance of these appointments in enhancing bilateral cooperation across trade, investment, education, health, and technology. He emphasized that Zambia continues to provide an enabling environment for international partnerships that contribute to national development.

The presentation of Letters of Credence provides a platform for the new diplomats to formally engage with Zambia’s government and strengthen ties between their countries and Zambia. These appointments are expected to advance economic, social, and cultural collaboration, as well as deepen diplomatic engagement.

Zambia’s proactive diplomatic efforts aim to attract investment, facilitate knowledge exchange, and strengthen international partnerships. The accreditation of these Ambassadors and High Commissioners signals the country’s continued focus on global cooperation and sustainable development.
