Yesterday afternoon, a meeting was held at Mulungushi Conference Centre, Lusaka, bringing together UPND leaders from all districts of Lusaka province. The meeting focused on promoting peace, unity, and national development guided by discipline.
President Hakainde Hichilema emphasized the need for party leadership to remain humble while upholding pride in the achievements of the UPND. These achievements include providing free education, employing thousands of teachers, health workers, and personnel in defence and security. He highlighted that the UPND has been the platform that enabled the election of public officials, including the president, and stressed the importance of respecting the party in all appointed positions.
Leaders were encouraged to actively mobilize communities and clearly communicate the progress and successes achieved under UPND governance. The president noted that the party has faced numerous challenges since its formation and during periods in opposition, but its resilience, focus, and commitment to unity have been key to its survival and growth.
President Hichilema reaffirmed the party’s commitment to working with all Zambians to ensure continued development and prosperity for the nation. He concluded the meeting by expressing confidence that UPND will remain dedicated to delivering a united and thriving Zambia.
