In a Group B clash of the 2025 COSAFA U17 AFCON Qualifiers, South Africa secured a commanding 4-0 victory over Zambia. The match highlighted South Africa’s attacking efficiency and exposed gaps in Zambia’s defense.

South Africa opened the scoring early in the second minute through Omphemetse Sekgoto. They doubled their lead in the 26th minute when Mpho Molepo converted a precise finish. Tandanani Mhlongo added a third goal in the 36th minute, putting South Africa firmly in control before halftime.

The fourth goal came in the 75th minute when Zambia’s Emmanuel Mbuti scored an own goal, giving South Africa a decisive 4-0 lead. Despite Zambia’s efforts, they were unable to respond, leaving them with a heavy defeat in their Group B campaign.
