Mixed Martial Arts Zambia has officially named its national team for the 2025 IMMAF World Championships, scheduled to run from September 27 to October 2 in Tbilisi, Georgia. The squad combines established champions with emerging talents, highlighting Zambia’s rising profile in international amateur MMA.

The announcement follows Zambia’s strong showing at the 2025 Africa Championships, where several athletes secured podium finishes. Medalists from that event received automatic national team slots, while other team members were selected based on consistent performance and exceptional results throughout the year.

Among the standout fighters is Miracle Chipito, representing Zambia in the Women’s Flyweight Senior category. Chipito won gold at the 2025 Africa Championships, solidifying her status as one of the country’s top MMA athletes. Her inclusion adds experience and confidence to the team ahead of the global competition.

The Zambian team also features a mix of male and female fighters across multiple weight divisions, emphasizing depth and balance. The squad’s selection reflects strategic planning to compete strongly against international opponents while showcasing the nation’s MMA talent on a global stage.

Preparations are underway, including intensive training camps and sparring sessions, aimed at refining techniques, improving conditioning, and building team cohesion. Zambia aims to improve on its previous performances and target podium finishes at the IMMAF World Championships.

This national team announcement underscores Zambia’s growing commitment to developing mixed martial arts, providing athletes with platforms to compete internationally and elevate the sport within the country.
