Zambia National Team goalkeeper and Nchanga Rangers captain Victor Chabu has paid a heartfelt tribute to the entire Nchanga Rangers family following the club’s dramatic escape from relegation in the 2024/25 MTN Super League season.
In a message shared at the close of the campaign, Chabu expressed deep gratitude to the club’s executive, coaching staff, teammates, fans, and sponsors for their unwavering support throughout what was a testing season.
“As we close the chapter on the 2024/25 MTN Super League season, I want to sincerely thank everyone who stood with us during this journey,” Chabu said. “Your belief, sacrifices, and commitment made the difference. We did it—together.”
Nchanga Rangers, also known as the Brave Rangers, were under the guidance of seasoned coach George Lwandamina. Despite a tough and often unpredictable campaign, the team held their nerve to secure their spot in Zambia’s top-flight league. They finished in 11th position with 42 points—just enough to avoid the relegation zone.
Chabu’s leadership on and off the pitch proved crucial throughout the season. Known for his sharp reflexes and calm presence in goal, the national team shot-stopper made a series of key saves in decisive matches, earning him admiration from fans and pundits alike. His role as captain was especially significant in keeping the team united and motivated during difficult stretches.
“It was not an easy season, but the fighting spirit in this team is something I will always be proud of,” Chabu said. “To my teammates—you gave everything. To the fans—you pushed us when we needed it most. And to the sponsors—you kept the faith. We are truly grateful.”
The tribute comes at a time when the club is expected to begin planning for the next season with renewed hope and lessons learned. With survival now secured, attention will likely turn to strengthening the squad and aiming for a more stable and competitive 2025/26 campaign.
Chabu’s message has resonated deeply with the Nchanga faithful, who have rallied behind their captain throughout the season. As the club looks ahead, the goalkeeper’s passion and dedication remain a shining example of leadership in Zambian football.
Nchanga Rangers will now focus on building momentum and consistency, buoyed by the belief that they can compete and thrive in the top tier. With players like Victor Chabu leading the charge, the Brave Rangers have every reason to be optimistic about the future.
