The Copperbelt University (CBU) has announced that lessons which have not yet been conducted physically at the Mpika Satellite Campus are scheduled to commence in the coming week. This follows concerns raised by students regarding delays in course delivery at the campus.
Earlier this week, a concerned student wrote to News Diggers, expressing dissatisfaction with the treatment of students at Mpika Campus. The student lamented that since December, some courses that were being taught at the main campus had yet to be delivered at the Mpika Campus.
“Good morning, News Diggers. I’m writing this with a heavy heart and displeasure with how the Copperbelt University is treating their students at their Satellite campus (Mpika Campus). All students pay the same amount as those at the main campus, but the services offered do not match,” the student complained.
In response, CBU has reassured students that the institution is working to address these concerns. University management acknowledged the delays and attributed them to logistical challenges, but affirmed that arrangements had been made to commence the affected lessons without further delays.
“We understand the concerns of our students at the Mpika Campus, and we assure them that all pending lessons will begin next week. The university is committed to ensuring equal learning opportunities for all students, regardless of their campus location,” a university representative stated.
CBU further emphasized its dedication to improving infrastructure and resources at its satellite campuses to enhance the learning experience. The administration also encouraged students to continue voicing their concerns through formal channels to facilitate quicker resolutions.
Students at Mpika Campus remain hopeful that these commitments will be honored and that their academic progress will no longer be hindered by administrative delays. The university has pledged to provide regular updates to ensure transparency in the implementation of these measures.
