The Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) has officially commenced the nationwide distribution of medicines and medical supplies, aiming to bolster the country’s healthcare delivery system.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, ZAMMSA Senior Manager for Corporate Communications Bradley Chingobe revealed that the distribution exercise would begin with secondary-level health facilities before systematically extending to district hospitals, specialized hospitals, and teaching hospitals on a monthly schedule.

“This initiative marks the beginning of the first of six planned distribution cycles for 2025, reinforcing our commitment to ensuring a steady and efficient supply of essential medical resources across the country,” Chingobe stated.
ZAMMSA has laid out a clear roadmap to streamline the distribution process, prioritizing secondary-level facilities in the initial phase. This systematic approach is designed to ensure that all health institutions, regardless of location, have access to critical medical supplies in a timely manner.
