- He won a gold medal at the All-Africa Games in 1978 in the Men’s Flyweight division.
- Lucky archived 5 medals and boxer of the year in 1982.
- He competed at the 1980 Moscow Olympics Round of 64: defeated Moussa Sangare (Mali) on points, 5-0.
- Mutale retired in 2005.
- Lucky passed away in 2009.
- He survived by a wife and 5 children.
