The Government of Zambia has announced the successful completion of a nationwide ambulance distribution programme under the Constituency Development Fund, marking a major milestone in efforts to improve emergency healthcare services. The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development confirmed that the remaining 37 ambulances have now been delivered and handed over to respective local authorities across the country. This follows the earlier distribution of 119 ambulances, bringing the total number of vehicles deployed under the initiative to 156. The programme is designed to strengthen health service delivery systems, particularly in rural and hard-to-reach areas where access to emergency transport remains a challenge.
