The observance began with a Commonwealth flag-raising ceremony at Portcullis House, held in anticipation of the Commonwealth Games scheduled in Glasgow from 23rd July to 2nd August 2026. The ceremony brought together members of the diplomatic community and parliamentarians, including Hon. Christopher Kang’ombe, M.P for Kamfinsa, and Hon. Sibeso Sefulo, M.P for Mwandi.
