A dedicated team of health workers under the Zambia National Blood Transfusion Service (ZNBTS) is traveling over 100 miles into remote rural areas to collect life-saving blood. Their work ensures that mothers undergoing Caesarean sections, patients requiring critical surgeries, road traffic accident victims, and individuals living with sickle cell disease have access to safe blood.

These health workers face long journeys and challenging conditions to make certain that blood reaches hospitals across the country. Each unit collected represents a second chance at life for patients in need. Their efforts guarantee that even the most remote communities remain connected to life-saving care.

The Ministry of Health urges every eligible citizen to become a blood donor. Blood donation is free, and anyone found selling blood should be reported immediately. Through collective effort, Zambia can continue to provide safe blood for all patients, ensuring that hope reaches every hospital ward.

Give blood. Save lives. Your health matters.
