Minister of Information and Media and Chief Government Spokesperson, Hon. Cornelius Mweetwa, MP, officiated the launch of the New Apostolic Church (NAC) 28 TV in Lusaka, marking a historic milestone for the Church and the nation.

Hon. Mweetwa commended the Church for the launch, describing it as a celebration of vision, unity, and faith in action. He noted that the achievement reflects the dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment of the Church’s leadership and membership. NAC 28 TV will not only preach the gospel but also inspire hope and help shape the moral compass of the nation.

Broadcasting across Africa through TopStar, the station offers a platform to showcase Zambia’s music, culture, and tourism to regional and international audiences. Hon. Mweetwa emphasized the Church’s role in the fight against corruption, highlighting its long-standing commitment to morality, integrity, and good citizenship. He reminded citizens that corruption and theft of public resources violate God’s commandments, reinforcing the moral responsibility shared by all.

The Minister urged the Church to continue praying for political leaders, national unity, and peace, particularly as Zambia approaches an election year. He also reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to maintaining a warm and constructive relationship with the Church, even when views differ on issues such as the Constitution of Zambia Amendment Bill No. 7. Hon. Mweetwa congratulated District Apostle Soko, the Church leadership, and congregants for achieving a milestone that strengthens Zambia’s spiritual and media landscape.

District Apostle Kabubu Soko described the launch of NAC 28 TV as the fulfilment of a shared dream born of faith, unity, and perseverance. He explained that the television station arose from the need to reach members more personally, a need that became especially clear during the COVID-19 pandemic when physical gatherings were restricted. He expressed gratitude to the Government for creating a supportive environment that has allowed faith-driven media initiatives like NAC 28 TV to flourish.

The launch of NAC 28 TV represents a significant step for faith-based media in Zambia, combining spiritual outreach with opportunities to promote culture, moral values, and national cohesion.
