Zambia is participating in the 3rd Session of the UN-Habitat Executive Board from 25th to 27th November 2025 in Nairobi, Kenya, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable cities and communities in line with the New Urban Agenda and Sustainable Development Goal 11.
The Zambian delegation is led by Mr. Nicholas Phiri, Permanent Secretary for Technical Services in the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, representing Zambia under the Africa Group. Also attending is His Excellency Alfred Musemuna, Zambia’s High Commissioner to Kenya, highlighting the country’s focus on strengthening partnerships for sustainable urbanisation.
The UN-Habitat Executive Board session gathers member states to review operations, enhance oversight, and accelerate global progress on human settlements and urban development. For Zambia, the forum offers an opportunity to showcase initiatives supporting Vision 2030, emphasizing inclusive, resilient, and well-planned communities.
Participation in this session underscores Zambia’s proactive engagement in international efforts to address urban challenges and advance sustainable development across the continent.
