Yesterday morning, the Evangelical Church in Zambia in Matero marked its Diamond Jubilee under the theme, “Celebrating God’s Faithfulness: 60 Years of Witnessing, Worship, and Service.” The event brought together church leaders, government officials, and members of the community to honour six decades of spiritual guidance, social service, and national contribution.
The Church’s role in Zambia’s development remains significant. Beyond spiritual leadership, it provides essential services in health, education, and social welfare. This partnership with the government has helped improve access to critical services for many Zambians.
During the celebrations, the ongoing role of the Church in fostering national unity, peace, and stability was emphasised. President Hakainde Hichilema reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ending cadreism and political violence, highlighting the importance of unity and stability for Zambia’s development. He praised the Church for its consistent efforts in guiding communities and supporting the nation’s progress.
