A delegation of 15 Zimbabwean content creators, including Frets Donzvo and Mama Vee, will attend the premiere of Zambian comedy film ‘‘AISHA.’’ The team is led by Takunda Tapfuma, co-founder of The Content Creators Association of Zimbabwe (COCAZ), who expressed excitement about participating in the event.

Tapfuma said the film, starring Zambian comedian Lucky Comedy, explores cultural values and promotes unity, aligning with COCAZ’s mission to preserve and promote African cultural identity. In an interview with Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub, he highlighted the event as an opportunity to showcase Zimbabwe’s rich cultural heritage and foster cultural exchange.

“AISHA explores cultural values, resonating deeply with COCAZ’s mission. This aligns with our goal of fostering cross-cultural understanding and appreciation. We are thrilled to be part of this cultural extravaganza and demonstrate our commitment to promoting African cultural values,” Tapfuma said.

Comedian and musician Frets Donzvo said the main goal of the trip is to strengthen collaboration and creative policy across Africa. Lucky Comedy added that the film seeks to unify the continent through comedy, featuring performers from different regions speaking their own dialects to promote understanding and acceptance.

‘‘AISHA’’ follows a young villager named Aisha who journeys to the city in search of better opportunities, only to discover that urban life presents its own challenges. Lucky Comedy said the film blends traditional heritage with contemporary urban experiences, featuring both celebrated comedians and respected traditional chiefs.

The delegation includes top influencers such as Frets Donzvo, Mama Vee, Kimnanah, Rutendo, Muku Zim1, Kuda Rushman, Shamiso Nduru, Mercy, and scriptwriter Bridget Paradza. During their stay, they will engage with Zambian content creators, participate in cultural events, and explore potential collaborations.

Tapfuma said the trip will strengthen bonds between Zimbabwean and Zambian creatives and pave the way for future joint projects. “Our participation in the premiere will showcase our content creators’ talents. They will learn from and share experiences with other creators present. We want to foster cross-cultural understanding and promote Zimbabwe’s rich cultural heritage,” he said.

COCAZ is a Zimbabwean organisation that unites content creators to foster growth, development, and collaboration. It provides training, networking opportunities, access to resources, advocates for creators’ rights, and promotes Zimbabwean content globally. The organisation has previously engaged in cultural exchange programmes in Iran and Nigeria, including participation at the Nigeria South Africa Relations (NSAR) 2025 conference.

The ‘‘AISHA’’ premiere marks another step in strengthening African creative collaborations and promoting shared cultural narratives.
