President Hakainde Hichilema will attend the End Malaria Council fundraising golf tournament at State House on 17 October 2025, a key initiative to mobilize resources for Zambia’s malaria elimination efforts.

The tournament, held under the theme “Swing. Score. Save Lives,” aims to raise K5 million to support malaria prevention, treatment, and elimination programs across the country. End Malaria Council Chairperson for End Malaria Fund, Mr. Peter Cottan, highlighted the critical role of multisectoral collaboration in achieving a malaria-free Zambia.

Mr. Cottan acknowledged the contributions of organizations already backing the initiative, including Wonderful Group of Companies, First Quantum Minerals Limited (FQML), Bayer, and Zambia Airways. Their support underlines the importance of private-sector engagement in strengthening national health initiatives.

Through coordinated action, strategic resource mobilization, and the use of innovative tools, Zambia aims to reduce malaria transmission and improve public health outcomes. Mr. Cottan emphasized that organizations participating in the event directly contribute to saving lives and building a healthier, more productive nation.

The golf tournament will take place at the State House Golf Course from 07:00 to 16:00 hours, providing an opportunity for participants to engage in a high-profile event while supporting a critical health cause. The initiative reflects Zambia’s ongoing commitment to public-private partnerships in advancing health security and achieving sustainable malaria control and elimination.

The End Malaria Fund continues to encourage collaboration from all sectors to ensure long-term success in the fight against malaria, positioning Zambia as a regional leader in health innovation and disease elimination.
