Ndola’s Lupili Ward is witnessing significant improvements in water supply and infrastructure following the recent opening of the Kafulafuta Water Project. Councilor Emmanuel Mulenga has reported enhanced access to clean water and sanitation, especially in the Mushili Hillside area, as a direct result of newly installed pipes and the connection of domestic consumers.

Speaking to Radio Icengelo News, Councilor Mulenga highlighted the positive impact the project has had on residents’ daily lives. He emphasized that people in Mushili Hillside can now reliably access water, marking a crucial step towards improving community health and wellbeing.

“People are now able to access water in Mushili Hillside and we want more people to have water kwa Mwape as well. I can only appeal to our people to protect the taps and pipes from vandalism,” said Councilor Mulenga.

He further issued a strong warning against vandalism of the water infrastructure, underscoring that such actions would not be tolerated. Protecting these vital facilities is essential to ensure sustained water availability for all residents.

In addition to water improvements, Councilor Mulenga announced plans to upgrade approximately four kilometers of roads within Lupili Ward. The project will be funded through the Bwana Mkubwa Constituency Development Fund (CDF), supplemented by additional allocations from the Central Government.

The entire 2025 CDF allocation for Lupili Ward will be dedicated to the construction and rehabilitation of feeder roads, with works set to commence soon. The estimated cost for the road upgrades is K1.5 million.

These developments signal a promising phase for Lupili Ward as efforts to enhance basic services continue, improving quality of life and boosting local economic activities. With ongoing investments in water and road infrastructure, residents can look forward to better access to essential services and improved connectivity.

Councilor Mulenga’s call for community vigilance in protecting public assets highlights the importance of shared responsibility in sustaining these improvements for future generations.
