In a move set to enhance regional air travel and economic ties, Zimbabwe’s Fastjet has announced the launch of a new scheduled service between Harare and Lusaka, Zambia. The service, which begins on Wednesday, April 9, marks Fastjet’s first foray into the Zambian market, adding a vital link between the two neighbouring capitals.

The airline will operate this route three times a week using its Embraer aircraft, offering travelers more flexibility and convenience when flying between the two countries.

“Zimbabwe and Zambia have a symbiotic relationship that cuts across multiple sectors. The introduction of this route attests to our commitment and contribution to further economic and social development of the Zim-Zam region,” said Fastjet Zimbabwe spokesperson Nunurai Ndawana in a press release. “For ten years, Fastjet Zimbabwe has been a proud part of the Zimbabwean community, and we are delighted to expand our commitment to Lusaka.”

Fastjet currently operates domestic flights within Zimbabwe and international flights between Zimbabwe and South Africa. The new Harare-Lusaka route represents a significant milestone for the airline as it extends its footprint in Southern Africa and plays a greater role in promoting regional connectivity.

As demand for efficient and reliable air travel in the region grows, Fastjet’s latest expansion is expected to contribute positively to both business and tourism sectors, strengthening ties between Zimbabwe and Zambia.
