President Hakainde Hichilema has addressed the Fourth Session of the Thirteenth National Assembly, reflecting on the progress made in upholding Zambia’s National Values and Principles. In his speech, he emphasized the core tenets of unity, peace, and stability as the foundation of the nation’s strength and prosperity.
“At the heart of our address was the essence of our national character—shaped by the values we hold dear: unity, peace, and stability. These are the bedrock of our nation’s strength, the pillars upon which we build a stronger and more prosperous Zambia,” President Hichilema stated.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to economic transformation, the president underscored the importance of ensuring that all Zambians have access to opportunities that improve their lives. He emphasized that the journey toward national prosperity is a collective effort, requiring the participation of all citizens while the government fosters an enabling environment for growth.
A key highlight of the address was the inspiring story of Dorothy Kamanisha, a 42-year-old pupil at Rodwell Mwepu Day School in Solwezi, who has returned to school through the free education policy. President Hichilema praised her determination, describing her as a symbol of the transformative power of education and a reminder that it is never too late to pursue one’s dreams.
“This is the Zambia we are building together—a nation of opportunity, dignity, and shared prosperity. A Zambia where hope is not just a word but a lived reality for all,” he added.
As the country moves forward, President Hichilema called for continued unity and commitment to national development, urging Zambians to work together toward a brighter and more prosperous future.
