The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has congratulated the Zambia Under-15 Boys’ and Girls’ National Teams for winning the CAF Schools Championship. The victories mark a significant milestone for school football in the country and highlight FAZ’s commitment to strengthening youth football.

FAZ President Keith Mweemba expressed pride in the achievements, noting that his administration is actively promoting school football as part of a broader youth football policy. He assured that the executive committee will provide full support to ensure school football becomes more influential than ever.

“It is a proud moment for us. On behalf of our executive and the football family, I congratulate our boys and girls on winning both the girls’ and boys’ championships at the just-ended CAF Schools Championship in the COSAFA region,” Mweemba said.

He highlighted the role of teachers in coaching both teams, underlining FAZ’s commitment to partnering with schools to revive school football. He added that winning both competitions serves as a foundation for developing a strong youth football pipeline. “This is our direction. We continue to pursue the best ways to integrate school football into mainstream football,” he said.

Mweemba also assured the technical staff of the two teams that FAZ will provide full support as they prepare for the next stage of the CAF Schools Championship. The dual victories reinforce Zambia’s position as a rising force in youth football within the continent and signal a promising future for the nation’s football development programs.
