Yesterday evening, Zambia hosted a grand banquet in tribute to His Excellency President Daniel Francisco Chapo of the Republic of Mozambique at the InterContinental Hotel in Lusaka. The event celebrated the enduring friendship and historical ties between the two nations.
President Hakainde Hichilema highlighted the shared history of sacrifice, freedom, and mutual support that binds Zambia and Mozambique. He noted that the nations’ relationship was forged during the struggle for independence and has been strengthened over decades of collaboration and partnership.
The President acknowledged Lusaka’s historical role as a home for Mozambique’s liberators, emphasizing the city as a place of solidarity and refuge during critical moments in the region’s history. He warmly welcomed President Chapo and his delegation, describing their return to Zambia as a homecoming to their second home.
