The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has announced the mutual separation with Chipolopolo coach Avram Grant. FAZ General Secretary Machacha Shepande confirmed that both parties agreed to part ways to chart a new direction for the Zambia Senior Men’s National Team.

“The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has agreed to mutually separate with Zambia Senior Men’s National Team coach Avram Grant. FAZ wishes Mr. Grant the best of luck in his future endeavours,” Shepande said. He added that further details will be communicated in due course and thanked Grant for his contributions to Zambian football.

Grant was appointed as head coach on December 22, 2022, on a two-year contract. During his tenure, he led Zambia to back-to-back AFCON qualifications for the 2024 and 2025/26 editions.

Zambia is set to compete in the Morocco 2025 AFCON, placed in Group A alongside Morocco, Mali, and Comoros. FAZ’s decision signals a strategic move as the association looks to prepare the Chipolopolo for strong performances in the upcoming continental tournament.
