The End Malaria Council has announced a high-profile fundraising initiative to strengthen Zambia’s efforts to eliminate malaria. Speaking at a press briefing, Advocacy and Communication Chairperson Malcom Chabala called on institutions to support the upcoming golf tournament scheduled for 17 October 2025 at State House Golf Course.
The event, themed “Swing. Score. Save Lives,” will be graced by President Hakainde Hichilema. It aims to mobilize K5 million to fund malaria prevention, treatment, and awareness programs across the country. Chabala emphasized the critical role of corporate and institutional participation in achieving the country’s malaria elimination goals.
The tournament has already attracted strong corporate backing. Wonderful Group will serve as the Anchor Sponsor, with First Quantum Minerals Limited and Nvumabaranda as Platinum Sponsors. Gatbro International is the Gold Sponsor, while Bayer and Zambia Airways join as key partners.
Marketing Director of Gatbro International, Muhammad Imran, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to the initiative, highlighting their collaboration with Tiger Brand and the End Malaria Council. Imran emphasized the shared goal of protecting mothers and children from malaria and strengthening public health interventions.
The tournament will run from 07:00 to 16:00 on Friday, 17 October 2025, at State House Golf Course. Organizers urge institutions, businesses, and individuals to participate, underscoring that every contribution supports Zambia’s national fight against malaria.
This initiative represents a strategic step in raising critical resources and awareness, demonstrating the collaborative effort between government, corporate entities, and civil society to eliminate malaria in Zambia.
