Residents of Kabinga Chiefdom in Kanchibiya District, Muchinga Province, have expressed their appreciation for the government’s provision of farming inputs via the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), highlighting the positive impact the support has had on agricultural productivity in the area.
Local farmer Greenard Mulenga described the CDF farming inputs as life-changing, explaining that the empowerment programme has significantly transformed his livelihood and increased his farm’s production capacity.
In an interview with the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS), Mr. Mulenga emphasized that the farming inputs act as essential capital for farmers, leading to improved harvests and tangible evidence of the programme’s success.
“Government has given us capital to start our farming businesses and it is up to us to utilise it to benefit our livelihoods,” he said.
The CDF initiative has thus been a crucial driver of agricultural growth in Kabinga Chiefdom, empowering small-scale farmers and contributing to food security and economic stability in Muchinga Province. Residents remain hopeful that continued support will further enhance farming productivity and improve living standards across the region.
