President Hakainde Hichilema visited Kalomo this afternoon, where he held an interactive session with local residents, focusing on national unity, hard work, and the fair distribution of resources. The visit served as an opportunity to connect directly with the community and reinforce the government’s developmental agenda.

During his address, the President stressed the importance of collective responsibility in preserving Zambia’s peace and stability. He called on citizens to support one another, work diligently, and remain committed to building a stronger nation together.

A key highlight of the engagement was the government’s ongoing efforts to ensure balanced development across all provinces. The President emphasized the pivotal role of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) in transforming local communities. Once limited to a minimal allocation of K1.5 million, the fund has now grown to over K30 million per constituency—an increase that has significantly expanded the scope of community-level projects and services.

This expansion of the CDF is seen as a strategic step toward reducing developmental disparities, with tangible benefits reaching even the most remote areas. From education and health to infrastructure and entrepreneurship support, the fund is driving meaningful change on the ground.

The President also spoke on the importance of embracing national unity, encouraging citizens to rise above divisions and treat each other with dignity and respect. He highlighted the value of replacing negativity with positive actions, promoting harmony, and supporting peaceful coexistence among all Zambians.

His message resonated with a broader vision for a united Zambia—where resources are shared fairly, development reaches every corner, and citizens work hand-in-hand toward progress. The visit concluded with a reaffirmation of the government’s dedication to creating an inclusive, peaceful, and prosperous nation for all.
