President Hakainde Hichilema has urged delegates at the Third Least Developed Countries (LDCs) Future Forum to take proactive steps in addressing the challenges faced by their respective nations. Officiating at the forum, held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Lusaka, Zambia, President Hichilema emphasized the importance of finding innovative solutions to enhance resilience against systemic shocks.

Under the theme “Enhancing Resilience: Innovative Solutions for Strengthening Least Developed Countries’ Resilience Against Systematic Shocks,” the event brought together over 250 delegates from 53 countries. President Hichilema challenged participants to shift away from the mindset that external assistance alone would resolve their problems, stressing the need for homegrown solutions.

“We must move away from the notion that someone somewhere will do what we are expected to do ourselves,” he stated, encouraging delegates to take ownership of their countries’ development agendas.

The President also expressed gratitude to the forum’s organizers and extended a warm invitation to delegates to experience Zambia’s renowned hospitality. He encouraged them to visit some of the country’s top tourist attractions before returning to their respective nations.

The forum serves as a platform for policy discussions and collaboration among LDCs, aiming to strengthen economic resilience and sustainable development. With leaders and experts sharing strategies to mitigate systemic shocks, the conference is expected to contribute significantly to shaping future policies for participating nations.
