The Zambia Women’s National Team is intensifying preparations in China ahead of the 2025 Yongchuan International Tournament, set to take place from 5 to 8 April. The Copper Queens’ training camp has gained momentum with the arrival of Hapoel Jerusalem winger Rachael Nachula, along with China-based players Kabange Mupopo and Fridah Mukoma, bringing the squad size to 17.

According to FAZ Media, the trio is the first group of foreign-based players to join the camp, with seven more expected to complete coach Nora Häuptle’s 24-member squad. The team is focused on sharpening tactics and improving squad cohesion ahead of their tournament opener against Thailand on 5 April.

A win against Thailand would see Zambia advance to the final on 8 April, where they would face either tournament hosts China PR or Uzbekistan. The Yongchuan International Tournament presents a valuable opportunity for the Copper Queens to test their strength against international opposition as they build towards future competitions.

With a mix of local and foreign-based talent, the team is optimistic about making a strong impression in the tournament. The technical bench remains focused on ensuring the squad is in top form as they prepare to take on their international rivals.
