The Public Service Micro Finance Company’s (PSMFC) Dairy Cattle Project has recorded significant success, with all 32 dairy cattle imported from South Africa last year producing calves.

In an exclusive interview with ZANIS in Lusaka, PSMFC Chief Information Officer Paul Haambote revealed that six public service workers have benefited from the initiative, which aims to promote dairy farming and improve food security.

Mr. Haambote emphasized that the project provides a unique opportunity for beneficiaries to venture into dairy farming, thereby enhancing their livelihoods.

“The initiative is part of the company’s efforts to support the agricultural sector and improve the livelihoods of public service workers,” he said.

He further announced that another shipment of dairy cattle from South Africa is expected to arrive this week, underscoring the company’s commitment to expanding the program.

Mr. Haambote attributed the project’s success to PSMFC’s dedication to boosting agriculture and ensuring sustainable income sources for public service workers.
