The National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA) has assured the public that Lusaka’s Society Business Park Tower is structurally sound and will not be demolished. The confirmation follows an independent engineering assessment conducted to evaluate the integrity of the high-rise building.

The tower was closed late last year due to security concerns, prompting speculation about its future. However, NAPSA Director of Investment, Matete Sichizya, has now confirmed that experts have found the structure to be safe.

Despite this positive assessment, Sichizya noted that issues with the car park structure still need to be addressed before the building can be reopened. Necessary repairs will be carried out to ensure safety standards are met, after which the tower will resume operations.

Society Business Park Tower is one of Lusaka’s key commercial buildings, housing offices and retail spaces. Its anticipated reopening is expected to restore business activities and ease concerns among tenants and stakeholders.
