The Provincial Administration in Muchinga Province has announced that the Muchinga Investment Forum and Exposition will take place from September 15 to 19, 2025, in Chinsali District.
Showcasing Muchinga’s Investment Potential
Muchinga Province Minister Njavwa Simutowe made the announcement during a live press briefing on ZANIS TV, stating that the event aims to highlight the province’s investment opportunities in key sectors such as agriculture, energy, mining, and tourism.
He emphasized the need to unlock Muchinga’s economic potential, which has remained largely untapped. “The province has suffered from low levels of industrialization, high unemployment, and poverty challenges that can only be addressed through strategic investment and industrial growth,” Simutowe said.
Bridging the Information Gap for Investors
The Minister noted that many potential investors lack sufficient knowledge about the province’s business opportunities. The upcoming expo will serve as a platform for networking, collaboration, and business expansion. He revealed that over 15 investors have already shown strong interest in establishing businesses in the region ahead of the event.
“This is a positive indicator that the province is ready to become an economic hub,” he added.
Simutowe also acknowledged the inconvenience caused to stakeholders, investors, and exhibitors who had planned to participate in the postponed October 2023 Muchinga Expo, assuring them that the 2025 event will be well-organized and impactful.
Call for Stakeholder Collaboration
Speaking at the same briefing, Provincial Planning Unit (PPU) Assistant Director and Muchinga Province Expo Coordinator Mataa Kamenda called for collaboration among all stakeholders, including public and private sector players as well as traditional leaders, to ensure the event’s success.
Kamenda further urged the media to play a crucial role in spreading awareness about the expo. He encouraged potential investors, exhibitors, and delegates to register early to secure their participation.
The 2025 Muchinga Province Expo will be held under the theme: “Promoting Investment for a Green and Healthy Environment through Sustainable Development.”
