Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President Andrew Kamanga has congratulated the Zambia Under-17 Women’s national team for securing a place in the third and final round of the Morocco 2025 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

According to FAZ Communications Manager Sydney Mungala, the team clinched a crucial 1-0 victory over Tanzania in Ndola, adding to their dominant 4-0 aggregate win over two legs. Their impressive performance keeps Zambia’s hopes alive for a spot in the prestigious global tournament.

Kamanga commended the young Copper Queens for their determination, noting that their achievement sets a strong example for other Zambian teams competing in international tournaments this year.

“We are proud of the team’s hard work and dedication. This victory is not only for them but for the entire nation. Their qualification serves as motivation for all Zambian teams striving for excellence on the international stage,” Kamanga said.

He also praised the coaching staff, technical bench, and FAZ secretariat for their contributions to the team’s success, urging the players to remain focused as they prepare for their next challenge. Zambia will face either Benin or Congo in the final qualification round, a crucial step towards securing a place at the Morocco 2025 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Kamanga expressed gratitude to the fans for their unwavering support, acknowledging their role in inspiring the team to greater heights.

“The fans have been incredible, and their support means everything to the players. We encourage them to continue rallying behind the team as they head into the decisive round of qualifiers,” he added.
