Acting Foreign Affairs Minister Sylvia Masebo has reaffirmed Zambia’s commitment to attracting foreign investment, stating that French businesses have a strong opportunity to thrive in the country’s economy.
Speaking on Wednesday during the signing of a Declaration of Intent to strengthen bilateral cooperation with France, Masebo emphasized Zambia’s readiness to deepen economic and diplomatic relations. She revealed that a delegation of French companies would soon visit Zambia to explore investment opportunities in energy, agriculture, and other key sectors.
“Zambia remains committed to deepening its diplomatic and economic cooperation with France. Our two nations share a long history of collaboration, and we aim to build on this foundation by expanding our engagements in key sectors, including trade, education, energy, agriculture, mining, health, and pharmaceuticals,” Masebo stated.
Expanding Business and Investment Partnerships
The Declaration of Intent marks a strategic step toward enhancing French investments in Zambia, with both nations seeking to leverage their economic strengths for mutual benefit. Zambia has positioned itself as an attractive investment destination due to its stable economic environment, abundant natural resources, and pro-business policies.
French companies are expected to assess opportunities in infrastructure development, renewable energy, and industrial projects. With Zambia prioritizing economic diversification and sustainable development, the partnership is anticipated to contribute significantly to job creation and economic growth.
Masebo reaffirmed the government’s dedication to fostering a conducive business climate for foreign investors and strengthening international trade relations. As discussions progress, both countries are set to explore more collaborative ventures aimed at boosting economic growth and development.
