The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has announced that Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema will undertake a State Visit to Japan from February 3rd to 7th, 2025. This significant visit comes at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, marking a new chapter in the long-standing and mutually beneficial relationship between Zambia and Japan.
According to a press statement by Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mulambo Haimbe, the visit underscores the continued commitment of both countries to strengthening bilateral ties. It is also seen as a chance to reaffirm shared values and mutual aspirations, further deepening cooperation in key sectors.
During his stay, President Hichilema is set to hold high-level discussions with Prime Minister Ishiba. A key highlight of the visit will be the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) aimed at enhancing collaboration in strategic sectors, fostering economic and technological advancements.

A unique aspect of the visit is the President’s scheduled site visits in Nagoya and Kyoto.
