The Patents and Companies Registration Agency (PACRA) has achieved a remarkable milestone, collecting over 147 million Kwacha in revenue for the year, significantly surpassing its target of 105.9 million Kwacha. This figure represents a substantial increase compared to the 107 million Kwacha collected in 2023.

According to PACRA’s Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Benson Mpalo, the Agency’s performance was driven by impressive results from various services, particularly from the commercial sector. Over 116 million Kwacha was collected from commercial services, including business registrations and annual returns, far exceeding the target of 70 million Kwacha and marking a 65% increase in revenue.

Furthermore, PACRA generated over 30 million Kwacha in income from its Intellectual Property services, adding to the Agency’s overall success. Mr. Mpalo highlighted these achievements in an interview with ZNBC News, noting that the collection of revenue from various services is a testament to the growing demand for PACRA’s services and its effective administration.

This outstanding performance underscores PACRA’s role as a key institution in Zambia’s business environment, helping to foster economic growth by providing vital services that support the registration and regulation of businesses and intellectual property.

With a clear focus on improving service delivery and expanding its reach, PACRA continues to strengthen its position as a leading agency in Zambia, committed to facilitating the growth of the country’s business sector and enhancing the protection of intellectual property rights.
