1. Relocation of Developers Along Great East Road
The government has issued notices to developers whose structures are located less than 60 meters from the Great East Road highway. These developments fall within the road reserve and must be relocated to ensure compliance with road safety and planning standards.
2. Encroachment on Galuannia Land in Kampasa
Residents encroaching on Galuannia land in Kampasa have been directed to cease all illegal activities. Police have been deployed to enforce this directive, ensuring order and preventing further encroachments. The Minister emphasized that no titles have been issued in this area for the past 50 years, and illegal claims will not be tolerated.
3. Developments Near the Airport Road
A notice has been issued to the Chongwe Municipal Council and the Ministry of Lands to cancel all unauthorized developments near the Airport Road. This road is slated for expansion into a dual carriageway, and all structures that obstruct this development will be removed.
4. Illegal Creations in the State Lodge Area
Hon. Masebo highlighted the issue of unauthorized land creations within the State Lodge title. The government has declared these creations illegal, and any developments found will be demolished. Moving forward, no new land parcels will be created in this area, and recent allocations will undergo strict scrutiny.
5. Urban and Regional Planning Compliance
The Minister directed all planning authorities to ensure adherence to the Urban and Regional Planning Act, 2025. She emphasized that no plans for low-cost housing in high-cost residential areas, such as State Lodge, would be approved. Authorities must submit plans that align with this law to maintain orderly development.
