- Jacob was born in Kitwe, Zambia.
- He currently plays as a striker for Chinese side Liaoning F.C..
- Well known for his pace and power during his time in the Netherlands he missed out on Zambia’s 2012 Africa cup of nations win due to a thigh injury.
- Jacob Mulenga started his career at Afrisports FC in Zambia, a club that has produced the likes of Rainford Kalaba, Stoppila Sunzu and the like.
- His club form at Afrisports which at that time was time was playing in the Zambian First Division earned him a spot in the Zambia National Football Team.
- At Chateroux FC he put up impressive performances at the Ligue 2 side and left with a respectable record of 27 goals in 109 games, which is a record to this day for a Zambian player in the Ligue 2.
- Jacob trekked to holland and joined FC Utrecht after leaving Chateroux FC and quickly earned his stripes among the Utrecht Fans.
- On May 13th 2014 he scored the first goal for FC Utrecht in their 2-1 win over Heracles Almelo.
- Jacob joined Shijiazhuang Everbright where he became the second Zambian footballer after James Chamanga to score over ten goals in the Chinese Super League.
