  1. Besnat Hellen Jere (born 4 May 1952) is a Zambian politician.
  2. She served as Member of the National Assembly for Luangeni from 2002 until 2006.
  3. Prior to entering politics, Jere was a farmer.
  4. She was the United National Independence Party (UNIP) candidate in Luangeni in the 2001 general elections.
  5. In the 2006 general elections UNIP joined the United Democratic Alliance alliance.
  6. Jere was elected to the National Assembly with a 2,027-vote majority.
  7. In 2006 Jere was nominated as the alliance’s candidate in Luangeni.
  8. Besnat H. Jere is a member of the Pan-African Parliament representing Zambia.
  9. Jere was succeeded by Angela Cifire.
  10. Hellen also liked doing some community work.
